“Spring in Their Step!”

The boys are doing well and making the most of the change in season. As spring starts to come through, they’re spending more time out and about, with fresh grass beginning to supplement their winter hay.

Highland cows are incredibly hardy and well suited to rough grazing. They’re efficient foragers and don’t need rich feeding, which is why we carefully manage their diet to keep everything nicely balanced. Alongside the spring grass, they’re still getting through a steady supply of hay to see them through this in-between period.

A quick note for visitors – you’ll see the ‘PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS’ sign in place. This is simply to help us keep their diet consistent. With so many people coming to see them each year, even small amounts of extra food can quickly add up.

Highlanders are known for their longevity and can live 20 to 25 years, which is something we very much have in mind for Donald, Andy and Ewan.

Thank you, as always, for your support and for helping us look after them so well.
