“Who’s Who in the Moo Crew?”

The question we’re asked most often on our cow tours is, “How do you know which one is which?” You’d think it would be easy, but it actually changes with the seasons – and as they’ve grown, each of our Highland boys has developed his own quirks and charms.

In summer, Ewan is the lightest in colour, with a golden coat that glows in the sunshine. In winter, he’s the shaggiest of the lot, keeping hold of his thick, tangled mane for a properly wild Highland look. Donald, meanwhile, is easy to spot thanks to his trimmed dossan, which lets you see his wonderfully expressive eyes. Andy is usually the trickiest to identify, with the darkest coat and a calm, steady nature that keeps the peace most of the time.

Personality-wise, Ewan is the gentle soul, Donald the reformed rascal, and Andy the quiet observer who occasionally joins the mischief. Next time you visit, see if you can tell them apart – once you know their quirks, each one is unmistakable.
